What is Coaching?
Coaching is professional support to work specifically on problems, difficult decisions or goals. It is individual working on personal and professional problems. Coaching is about helping the client to sort his problems, find solutions and to find access to his own resources and use them. Coaching is not counseling. In the counseling the consultant knows things which the client doesn't know. The client describes his problem, and the consultant provides the solution. The coach, however, assumes that the client can develop the best solution for him only himself. The coach helps the client here - in the process consultation elements can occur in individual cases. Coaching is no psychotherapy either. As opposed to coaching, psychotherapy focuses on mental illnesses.
